To start earning money from Appen you will need to visit the Appen Connect website and sign up as an Appen Contributor. Signing as Appen Contributor gives you access to work as an independent contractor who contracts with Appen to work on a variety of projects for Appen clients.

How to Become an Appen Contributor
- Visit the Appen Connect Registration Link. Fill Up the Registration form and click on “Create Account”.
- Verify your email address
- Select your Language and Dialect. If you know more languages add more languages which will get more chances on the platform. Clicking the checkbox under the translation will get you opportunity on translation tasks.
- The next step involves entering your contact information.
Select the contact type : “I want to contract directly with Appen as an independent contractor”
Fill up Name, Email, Address correctly - Following step involves in uploading your CV. As an student you can just include your hobbies and what ignites you and how comfortable you are with the modern tech.
- You will be required to fill up about your Education and Prior Experiences
- Click the “Submit Application“ button following which you will be required to verify your email address through a verification code sent to your E-mail
In the next step you will be asked link a smartphone if own it. Linking your smartphone will make you eligible for special smartphone opportunities. So it is recommended to link a smartphone which is present in your household, ( in case you don’t own one ) to make the full use of resources.
Then you will asked certain questions which should be answered as per your preference.
The next step involves in verifying your identity which requires uploading a government id. Please note that for getting approved as an Appen Contributor you will have to use legitimate documents. You will need to upload a photo of your ID.
Now Appen will verify your information and send you a mail regarding your application status. All this will be done in a couple of days and in rare cases it may take as long as a week
Once you are verified you will have to proceed with documentation signing. Appen will reach out to by sending you a mail. Keep checking your mails regularly and check the spam box too incase you email provider considered the mail from Appen as a Spam.
After you get the email log on to connect.appen.com . After you login you will get a terms and conditions page wherein it will be stated that you are being hired as an independent contractor on Appen for 6 months. After 6 months you will be reviewed and if you were working up to the mark your contract will be extended.
Also make sure to use your private internet connection rather than using a public one as Appen clearly states that there should be only one registration on their platform per household which translates to 1 Appen Contractor on 1 IP Address
Most projects require a computer and Internet access, however, so if you don’t have that, you may need to purchase such items before getting started.
